What's Split Statement? ✂️📄

Split Statement allows you to split eligible balances on your credit card statement into equal monthly payments at a lower interest rate. First, you choose the eligible balances on your credit card statement and the number of monthly payments you would like to split them into. When we show you the final loan amount, tenure, interest rate, loan repayment schedule and monthly instalment amount, you can then decide if you want to proceed.

We issue approvals for Split Statement through the Trust app. You will be able to view the loan amount, tenure, interest rate, loan repayment schedule and monthly instalment amount that we have approved. We will reinstate your available credit limit by amounts equal to the repayments you make.

If we decline your Split Statement application, you must continue to pay off your credit card balance in accordance with our credit card terms. We may decline your Split Statement application or decline to offer you Split Statement for any reason, without giving you the reason.

Interest and fees 🏦

Late payment charges

Your Split Statement monthly instalments will be charged to your Trust credit card. Therefore, if you do not make the minimum payment by the payment due date, the Trust credit card late payment charges apply. See the Key Facts Sheet for your Trust credit card for details.

Early repayment fee

3% of your outstanding Split Statement principal amount, if you repay your Split Statement loan in full early.

Interest

The interest rate offered to you is based on your Split Statement amount, tenure, your personal credit profile and may differ from the published rate and the rate offered to other customers.

Interest accrues daily and is calculated on a 365-day year (or 366-day year in a leap year). It is then charged on the instalment date. If you decide to repay your Split Statement loan early, interest will only be charged till the date that you request for an early repayment.

Interest is calculated by multiplying the approved interest rate and Split Statement amount for the full tenure.

Interest under our credit card terms

If you don’t pay in full the monthly loan instalment due on or before the payment due date, the unpaid principal of the loan instalment will be charged a daily interest based on a 365-day year (minimum) from the date of your credit card statement until the date payment is received.

This interest rate is the same as the interest rate for overdue amounts on your credit card purchases. Please refer to the relevant credit card Key Facts Sheet for more details.

Please note that if you do not pay the monthly loan instalment in full (for example, if your monthly instalment amount is $500 but you only pay $400), you will take longer than the original loan tenure to pay off the Split Statement loan in full.

Termination

We will terminate all your Split Statement(s) if you are 90 days past your due date for your credit card’s minimum payment due. All your Split Statement(s) outstanding amounts will then form part of your Trust credit card’s outstanding balance.

Credit report

You are not entitled to a free credit report if you apply for a Split Statement.

Repayment🤑➡🏛

We will include your monthly instalments in your monthly Trust credit card outstanding statement balance. We also include your monthly instalments as part of your credit card’s minimum amount due. Please see the Trust credit card Key Facts Sheet for details. You must continue to make payments on all your other Trust credit card purchases.

We may demand immediate repayment of Split Statement in full together with all accrued and unpaid interest and charges, at any time and for any reason. This is regardless of whether the remaining Split Statement is reflected in your Trust credit card statement or not. This will apply even after you terminate your relationship or Split Statement with us.

Rewards😐

Split Statement is not eligible for any promotions and rewards.

Termination by early repayment🔚

You can repay your Split Statement early. When you indicate this on the Trust app we will calculate and notify you of the outstanding amount and payment due date.

If you don’t pay the entire outstanding balance on or before the payment due date after you have opted for early repayment, we will charge you interest on the outstanding amount until the date the outstanding amount is paid in full.

Partial early repayment of your Split Statement is not allowed.

Effect of termination😥

If you are no longer our customer or if the Split Statement is terminated for any reason, you must repay the outstanding amount you owe us (this includes any unpaid interest and charges) immediately. If we accept any other amount that you pay, it does not mean that we are giving up our right to claim for the remaining balance owing. This will apply even after you terminate your relationship or Split Statement with us.
